How to sprout brown rice






Brown rice is a living grain.  It’s amazing to sprout and watch the roots grow.  Sprouted rice is more nutritious and is easier to digest.  Sprouting only works on brown rice.  The milling process for white rice removes the husk, germ and bran.

Here’s how my mom taught me to sprout rice:

1.  Wash brown rice and soak overnight.

2.  In the morning, drain the water in colander and rinse.  Place colander over bowl and cover rice with towel.

3.  Rinse with water in the evening, drain and cover.

4.  It will sprout in about 3 days.
